Changsha WES Academy (CWA) is the first and only international school in Hunan Province that uses English as the primary language of instruction. In 2009, CWA was established in order to support the growth by attracting more foreign investors to Changsha City and Hunan Province at large. With the support of the leaders of Changsha City, the Changsha National Economic and Technical Development Zone Administrative Committee (CETZAC) cooperated with Worldwide Education Services, Singapore (WES Group) to establish an international school for the children of expatriate and SAR families. In 2015, Changsha WES(Bilingual) Academy was opened to Chinese local student for fully utilizing of the high-quality international education resources.
Currently, CWA has become a community with over 400 students and teachers who are from more than 20 countries and regions. We offer an international curriculum for children aged 3 to 19.
More than 50% of teachers have masters and doctorates; more than 30% are foreign teachers, and more than 90% are bilingual teachers.
